Why We Care

In this project, I also wanted to honor the life of my good friend, Lionel Hoffer, who was tragically taken from us while fighting a fire in Milwaukee in 1994. His sacrifice and courage left a lasting mark on all who knew him. In the photo included here, I am pointing to his name etched on “The Last Alarm” memorial in downtown Milwaukee—a permanent reminder of the bravery and dedication of firefighters who gave everything in service to their community.
Lionel’s memory continues to inspire me, and I am grateful for the chance to honor his legacy. I also extend this tribute to those serving actively or in the reserves in our military—individuals whose service and sacrifice ensure our safety and freedom.
